Narrative highlights for recent JSON Editor releases. For a concise version list, visit the Changelog.

July 2026 — Polish & clarity (v1.2)

This release focused on making the product easier to navigate and trust. Hub pages for converters, tools, and utilities help you find the right utility without hunting through menus. We tightened accessibility on long-form pages, clarified cookie messaging so it is obvious that JSON stays local, and smoothed preference saving so your editor feels the same after a refresh.

May 2026 — Beyond formatting (v1.1)

Formatting alone is rarely enough for day-to-day API work. v1.1 shipped a broader toolkit: merge and sort utilities, schema helpers, JSONPath-style querying, and a set of companion developer tools (UUID, Base64, hashing, regex, timestamps, and more). We also invested in PWA caching so core flows remain useful when the network drops — with a dedicated offline page when a route is not cached.

March 2026 — Public launch (v1.0)

JSON Editor launched publicly at https://jsoneditor.vektosys.com with a clear promise: fast JSON Editor that never require an account and never upload your documents for processing. The first release centered on a capable formatter/validator/viewer experience and a practical converter set spanning XML, YAML, CSV, tabular/Excel-friendly data, HTML, Markdown, SQL, and TypeScript typings.

What's next

We continue to improve conversion edge cases, keyboard accessibility in dense editors, and performance for larger payloads — without compromising the local-first model. Feature ideas are welcome at jsoneditor@vektosys.com.
