This Cookie Policy explains how Vektosys uses cookies and similar technologies on JSON Editor (https://jsoneditor.vektosys.com). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixels. We use browser storage primarily for preferences; optional third-party cookies may be used for analytics or ads if you consent.

2. Essential / strictly necessary

  • Theme & preferences — stored via localStorage so your editor settings persist
  • Consent record — remembers whether you chose "Essential only" or "Accept all"
  • Security / load balancing — may be set by our hosting or CDN provider to deliver the site reliably

Essential storage does not upload your JSON to our servers. Tool processing remains local in the browser.

3. Optional analytics cookies

If you accept all cookies, we may use analytics tools to understand aggregated traffic (for example which pages are popular, approximate regions, and performance metrics). These help us improve the product. Analytics providers may set their own cookies subject to their policies.

4. Optional advertising cookies

If you accept all cookies, advertising partners may use cookies or similar IDs to measure ad performance or (where permitted) personalize ads. You can decline these by choosing "Essential only" on our consent banner. Declining does not remove access to local JSON Editor.

5. What we never put in cookies

  • Your full JSON documents as a means of server-side processing
  • Passwords or account credentials (we do not offer accounts)
  • Payment card data (the core Service is free to use)

6. How long cookies last

Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies and localStorage entries remain until they expire, you clear them, or you change consent and related storage. Exact lifetimes depend on the technology and third-party provider.

Blocking all storage may reset theme preferences and disable optional features that rely on remembering your choices.
